Mary Fitzpatrick was an Irish member of the French Brotherhood of Assassins who was based in Paris alongside Jean-Baptiste Barbeau and Sami Zidane under Master Assassin Michel Moulin.
Biography
By 1870, Mary was amongst the best code breaker within the brotherhood and was responsible for the helping bureau leader Michel to decode Templar communications for years. Working alongside Jean-Baptiste Barbeau and Sami Zidane, she found herself aiding the Parisians against the incoming attack from the Prussians.[1] During the Franco-Prussian War started, Mary aided the French Assassins and the citizens of Paris, despite the short rations given to the city. At a meeting at the Gare de l'Est, Mary was met by high-ranking French Templar Victoire L'Estocq, who requested time to talk with Michel.[2]
Behind Victoire, Mary made sure to protect all sides from any attack from Victoire. Fortunately, Michel rejected L'Estocq's offer of her new government in place of France's faltering one.[2] On October 27, Mary received a Templar cipher from Michel and the British Assassin Simeon Price, who checked on the pigeon carriers. In a hour, she decoded the message from Austrian Templar Countess Konstanze von Visler to Victoire and how it dictated moving the Ankh out of Paris and how the Tours government was under their control. From this, Michel sent Simeon to go to Tours to setup a heliograph beacon and then to Brussels to confront the countess.[3]
In 1888, Mary and Michel married each other in a small ceremony. In the next year, she received a puzzle box from Simeon and Fabrice Sabourin, who found it in the hotel room of Konstanze. She then decoded the box and learned of Konstanze's plan with the Engine of History and an unknown recipent vowing for the end for all the Assassins.[4] In a room joined by Pierrette Arnaud and her ally Spider Wallin, Mary joined her group and discuss how to thwart the Templars' plans at the Eiffel Tower. Not sure of the potential, Michel instructed to blow it up. Mary was put in charge to retrieve explosives from Jean-Baptiste and then set up an explosive blasting machine.[5]
On the day of the attack, Mary later learned from Simeon and Spider that their own plan was a trap for the Templars to use and designate the Assassins as terrorists. Although ultimately stopping Konstanze's plans, Mary and Fabrice had to quickly disarm their explosives before any civilian saw their mistakes.[6]
