Amphitrite is the goddess-queen of the sea, the wife of Poseidon, and the mother of Triton in Greek mythology. Her equivalent in Roman mythology is Salacia.
During the 5th BCE, a sunken temple was dedicated to her, and explored by the misthios Kassandra.[1]
