Amphitrite is the goddess-queen of the sea, the wife of Poseidon, and the mother of Triton in the Greek mythology. In Roman myths, her equivalent is called Salacia.

During the fifth century BCE a sunken temple was dedicated to her, and explored by the misthios Kassandra.[1]
