Laches was a Greek man who lived during the 5th century BCE.
During the Peloponnesian War, Laches and his wife, Phaenna, visited the poetry festival at the Port of Kreusis in Korinthia to catch a glimpse of the poet Praxilla. During the event, he and rest of the spectators watched as Praxilla recited her famous poem alongside the misthios Kassandra.[1]
