Korinth is a city in Greece and the capital of the Korinthia regional unit in the Peloponnese.

One of the largest cities in ancient Greece, its great wealth revolved around its Temple of Aphrodite which sat atop its acropolis, the Akrokorinth. The Hetairai which actively worked for the temple were an infamous attraction of the city, resulting in prostitution being one of its principal sources of revenue. The other pillar of its economy was pottery which was supplied by the many clay pits scattered across Korinthia.[1]

Durint the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the city.[1]
