Kerkyon was a king of Eleusis in Greek mythology.

Kerkyon is best remembered for challenging travellers to wrestling matches, and killing those he defeated. This lasted until Theseus crossed paths with Kerkyon, and bested him.[1]

By the time of the Peloponnesian War, a monument commemorating Kerkyon's pastime still stood by the road from the Sanctuary of Eleusis to Megara.[2]
