This article is about the Templar in possession of the Shroud of Eden. You may be looking for his relative burned at the stake.

Geoffroy de Charny (c. 1300 – 19 September 1356) was a French knight and member of the Templar Order, who was in possession of the Shroud of Eden, until it was stolen from him by members of the Assassin Order. The Assassins replaced the artifact with a forgery, which became known as the Shroud of Turin. He was killed at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356.
