The Flying Ikaros was a legendary pirate trireme sailing the Aegean Sea between the Southern Sporades and the Volcanic Islands.
During the Peloponnesian War the Adrestia, commanded by the Spartan misthios Kassandra and captained by Barnabas, engaged the Flying Ikaros and her companions in battle, and sank it. Kassandra claimed the sail and finery of the Flying Ikaros for her own.[1]
