Eivor arrives at the Fairy Glen

Fairy Glen is a unique landscape in the northern part of the Isle of Skye.

History

In the 6th century, the Irish monk Brendan of Clonfert discovered the megalithic structure during one of his pilgrimages. It was during this finding that he felt the "spirits" he met before on his previous voyages. As he felt the spirit of "Nephilim", Brendan wrote down their words that were spoken to him. The monk soon left a map of the Isle of Skye, with the locations of the Cave of Gold and its five triangular shards for its pedestal.[1]

In the 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan traveled to the Fairy Glen alongside her companion, the Spartan mercenary Kassandra to find clues about the artifact's location. Using her Odin sight, Eivor found the Brendan's correct etchings and drew the map on the ground for her and Kassandra. From the map, both warriors headed north to the Cave of Gold as Eivor wiped the map from the ground before leaving.[1]

Behind the scenes

Eivor may have discovered and solved the stone formation's riddle before meeting up with Kassandra.
