Eluric was a Anglo-Saxon man, who lived in Maeldun, Essexe, during the 9th century. One of the inhabitants of Maeldun, Eluric was shown to be the brother of a woman named Alfida, until he found out that Alfida was actually his mother.
Biography
Early Life
As a child, Eluric grew up in Maeldun and raised solely by Alfida, as she lied to him about his true parentage. As he grew up, Eluric was seen as strong-hearted but somewhat soft in comparison to other men. For his whole life, Eluric lived besides Alfida, as she took care of him without any outside help.[1]
Finding out the Truth
In 875, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan agreed to break the marriage of Birstan and Estrid through a ruse of a kidnap. In return, Eivor was told to receive an alliance from the shire's ealdorman.[2] Eivor first looked for Birstan's lost childhood love, Alfida, in the town of Maeldun. After investigating the area, Eivor found nobody at their home and guards surrounding the premise. However, Eivor found a last clue at a nearby shed, where she could hear something within the shed.

Battle of Cippanhamm
In 878, Eivor called all her allies, including Eluric, to fight against King Alfred in the battle of Cippanhamm. Eluric was seen in a conversation between himself, Vili Hemmingson, and Hunwald. It appeared Eluric came back after the last argument with his parents and truly accepted Alfida as his mother. After greeting her allies, Eivor left to go over the battle plan with Guthrum and Soma. After the meeting ended, Eivor gave a speech to her allies and declared the start of their battle against King Aelfred. [4]
Soon, Eivor quickly aided her remaining allies as best she can. Eivor soon heard Ljufvina Bjarmarsdottir and Hjorr Halfsson calling for her and stating that one of the "Saxon boys" were wounded. Eivor checked and saw Hunwald badly hurt as Eluric was in dispair over not protecting Hunwald well. Eivor, with Eluric close, carried Hunwald to a nearby farmhouse and laid him down. By Hunwald's side, Eluric stood by as Eivor and Hunwald talked about Hunwald meeting his father and proving himself worthy. Hunwald stated that Eivor was his truest friend before succumbing to his wounds. Eluric stayed with Hunwald as a bereft, whimpering Eivor left to finish the battle. After the battle was won, Eluric was one of the attendees of the funerals of Soma, Hunwald, and Hjorr.[4]
