In 1825, Simeon Price, was born in the district, where his father worked in one of its public house.[1] Circa 1831, one of its public schools, led by Lady Byron, noticed Simeon as a exceptionally gifted student and took him under her wing to teach him personally. However, despite his awareness, he was cast out after his loyalty to Byron's daughter, Ada Lovelace, cost him his education.[2]
