Damia was a Spartan noblewoman who lived during the 5th century BCE. She was the mother of Danae and Kristos, siblings who, according to Xanthe, the magistrate of Pitana, were quite the little troublemakers.
Biography[edit | edit source]
After helping Xanthe,[1] the misthios Kassandra was told that there were others in Lakonia who might use her skills. Xanthe mentioned Damia as one whose case she might look into. When Kassandra found Damia at the Temple of Dionysos Kolonatas, the woman asked the misthios to teach her children and their friends the story of the legendary hero Perseus so that they'd learn.[2]
