Adonis is an Isu[1] and in Greek mythology a mortal lover of the goddess Aphrodite who was deified after his death.

Residing in Elysium, Adonis became the leader of a rebellion against the ruler of the realm, Persephone.[2]

Mythology

Jealous over Aphrodite, the god Ares killed Adonis. For this, Ares was imprisoned in a bronze jar by the giant sons of the god Poseidon, the Aloadai Otos and Ephialtes, for thirteen months.[3]
