The Gaels are an ethnolinguistic group native to Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. The language of the Gaels is associated with the Celtic languages such as Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Manx. The group also interbred with the Norse during the late 9th century, creating a new ethnic group known as the Norse-Gaels.

Sometime after eliminating the Order of the Ancients in Anglo-Saxon England in 878 CE,[1] the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan sailed to Ireland, where she encountered the Children of Danu, a Druidic cult that wanted to restore the old faith and eliminate Christianity and Norse paganism.[2]
