On the night of her performance, William nervously interacted with Adelina in her dressing room, attempting to settle the financial arrangements for her performance. Adelina asserted her conditions for payment. Despite William's initial struggles, the two were able to reach an agreement, as Adeline accepted cash instead of gold for the remainder of her fee, and William scurried away to retrieve it.[1]
