The Suez Canal is an artifical level waterway in Egypt which connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. Since its inception, the canal has been a popular trade route between Europe and Asia and was the site of the infamous Suez Crisis fought during the Cold War between Egypt, Israel, United Kingdom, and France.[1]

The construction of the canal began in 1859 was presided over by Khedive Ismail Pasha, the viceroy of Egypt. He had been pressured by the French to finish work on the canal, and was forced to make use of forced labour despite his on stand agsinst it. Following its completion in 1869, a celebration was held at the Khedivial Opera House by Ismail Pasha to commemorate its opening, with Queen Eugénie de Montijo of France as the guest of honor.[2]
In 1873, the British Assassin Pierrette Arnaud infiltrated a Templar illegal art ring at a business besides the canal. After investigating the business and interrogating a young Templar, she discovered names and business aligned with the Templars and left the young Templar injured but alive.[3]
