Stentor (c. 461 BCE – unknown)[1] was a Spartan officer and the adopted son of Nikolaos of Sparta who lived during the 5th century BCE.

Biography

In 431 BCE, he fought alongside his father during the blockade of Megaris. In this same campaign, he met Kassandra who, unbeknownst to him, was Nikolaos' step-daughter.[2]

Later in 429 BCE, Stentor was assigned as the polemarch of the Spartan army in Boeotia, having been tasked to conquer the region.[2]

Trivia

  • Sparing Nikolaos in the quest that follows would allow a later side quests to be played, which rewards him and Nikolaos as crew members.
  • If the player opts to kill Nikolaos they will be attacked by Stentor afterwords. If the player kills Stentor during this moment he will re-appear later on with no explaination of how he survived though will be extremely vengful to you and will send you on what is to be suicide missions in Boetia in hopes of being killed. After capturing Boetia for Sparta Stentor will challenge you to a battle immediately afterwords. Without Nikolaos present to stop the battle Stentor is beaten badly and is either killed or spared. If spared Stentor's men with turn on him and abandon him. Stentor is then exiled from Sparta and becomes a mercenary who will constantly hunt you down until you either kill him or knock him out and recruit him. if recruited in this manor, Stentor while still serving as a Liuetiniet for your ship, will be verbally hostile to you.
