Sokos (died 420s BCE) was a member of the Gods of the Aegean Sea branch of the Cult of Kosmos, active in and around Melos during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography
When the Spartan misthios Kassandra slew Sokos' fellow member in the Gods, Asterion, she found Sokos' letter on him. This letter led Kassandra to Sokos' trail, as he mentioned in the letter that he would set out from Melos the following day.[1]
However, before Kassandra could kill Sokos, she had to draw him out into the open. In this she managed by weakening the Obsidian Islands, forcing Sokos to engage her in a naval battle in which he perished.[1]
