Naxos

Naxos Island is a Greek island located in the Aegean Sea.

It was known for its white sandy beaches and its vast supply of pure white marble, which was highly sought after by sculptors and masons throughout Greece. In spite of this, the island had a Temple of Apollo under construction which was never completed during the 5th century BCE.[1]
