Lake Abythos is the only lake on the Greek island of Kephallonia. Situated near the ancients ruins of the city Pronnoi, the lake is said to be so deep that it lead many to believe that it had no bottom.
During the 5th century BCE, the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, explored the lake and deciphered an Ainigmata Ostraka.[1]
