Koressia (Ancient Greek: Κορησσία) was a town on the island of Keos, Greece. In classical antiquity, it was a polis in the Pirate's Revenge region of Pirate Islands.

Located close to Attika on the northwest side of the island, the city could be reached from Athens in 24 hours. Its economic wealth was tied to its silver mines and miltos used to paint triremes.[1]

History

During the Peloponnesian War the city served as the base of operation for Xenia, the leader of the pirates in Keos. Instead of soldiers, pirates patrolled the streets, having taken the city from the military forces on the island.[2]

In search of her mother Myrrine, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the city and made the acquaintance of Xenia.[3]
