Cannot see how baldness would make one not wear a helmet, it's still head armor. Doubtful he has ties to any of the many other historical folks with whom he shares the name.

"Everyone's got a plan... until the first bone breaks."
―Konon[src]-[m]

Konon (died c. 429 BCE), also known by his epithet the Fighter, was a member of the Order of the Ancients, serving as part of the Order of Hunters branch during the 5th century BCE. He was also a member of the Followers of Ares, a Greek cult dedicated to the god of war.

Biography[edit | edit source]

During the late 5th century BCE, the Order of Hunters was charged by the leader of the Order of Ancients in Persia to seek out and eliminate the "Tainted Ones". The branch's Magus Pactyas the Huntsman led his followers into Makedonia in Greece in the midst of the Peloponnesian War. This included Konon, who left behind his wife.[1]

While in Makedonia, Konon joined the Followers of Ares, abandoning his leader's penchant for working with the wild beasts of the world for strength he believed the god of war would grant him. To ensure this, Konon made his way to the shrine in northern Makedonia with his wolf companion and his brethren after sending a message to Phratagounè.[2] In time, the misthios Kassandra found and eliminated Konon at the ruins,[3] recovering his Impenetrable Helm in the process.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Konon (Κόνων) is an Ancient Greek name possibly derived from κονέω (konéo) meaning "raise the dust, fast, rapid".

Even though Konon is counted as a Follower of Ares, and Ikaros recognizes him as 'Fanatic' prior to unveiling, he does not count as a Follower of Ares in quests requiring killing said cultists.
