Kleon (died 422 BCE) was an Athenian general during the Peloponnesian War. He was also the Sage of the Cult of Kosmos, and the superior of Rhexenor. He was the first prominent representative of the commercial class in Athenian politics.
He was killed by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Battle of Amphipolis in 422 BCE.[1]
