Hedone, also known as Voluptas in Roman mythology, is the Greek goddess of pleasure and enjoyment. She is the daughter of Eros and Psyche and is often associated with sensual pleasure.

Trivia

  • In 431 BCE, a small cult was founded in Elis near the Spring of Piera revolving around Hedone. Every member of this cult also renamed themselves to Hedone including an actor working for Thespis.[1]
  • The Greek word ἡδονή means 'pleasure' and is the source of the term 'hedonism'.
