For the arc, I say about more than half of the action occurred in the city, with the exception of St. Kenhelm's Church. If I have to amend it to make it more concise, I understand.

Gloucester (Old English: Glowecestre) is a city and the county town of Gloucestershire, England.

History

9th century

During the 9th century, the town, Glowecestre, was visited by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, after Ravensthorpe's blacksmith Gunnar traveled to the city to meet his beloved, Brigid. In 876, Eivor visited Gunnar and Brigid, who was readying herself to join their clan. Upon her visit, Eivor aided the ealdorman Cynon by providing an escort to a lord named Tewdwr. Later, Eivor joined the festivities under the guise of Mari Lwyd, until she had to fought alongside Gunnar against a man threatening Gunnar. After the fight, Gunnar was injured but soon aided by priestess Modron and her daughter, Gwenydd. Leaving Gunnar, Eivor later spent time with Cynon, Tewdwr, and Gwilim, as they discussed Cynon's role as a sacrifice for the Wicker Man and Tewdwr's role as successor. After toasting Cynon and Tewdwr, Eivor saw Cynon leave as Tewdwr later apologized. Eivor accepted and both drank the night away. [1]

The next day, Eivor woke up to a crime scene with Tewdwr missing, his guard dead, and Gwilim's pouch found inside. As Eivor left his house, Cynon approached and accused Eivor of murdering Tewdwr. Now wanted for murder, Eivor hid from the public and Glowecestre's guards. Seeking aid, Eivor met with Modron about Gwilim's pouch. The contents were known to help induce a heavy sleep, but Modron knew nothing about the owner. Gwenydd let Eivor know that a druid named Halewyn may be able to help. Modron agreed and told Eivor to meet her later at Rollendritch. After finding out Gwilim's immediate location from Halewyn, Eivor went to investigate Thieves' Warren.[2]

Upon her discovery of Tewdwr and Gwilim, Eivor interrogated Gwilim, who revealed that Cynon framed her.[3] After saving Tewdwr, Eivor traveled to Glowecestre to confront Cynon. From her probing, Eivor found that Cynon was inside St. Kenhelm's Church and soon found her way inside the church. Confronting Cynon, Eivor found out that Modron was behind all that happened. However, Eivor let Cynon know that Tewdwr renounced his callousness for pagans and thus, Cynon told Eivor to save Tewdwr. After deciding Cynon's fate, Eivor left for Aelfwood.[4]

After saving Tewdwr and deciding Modron's fate, Eivor and Tewdwr left to attend Glowecestre's burning of the Wicker Man.[5] After the ceremony started, with the help of the druid, Halewyn, Tewdwr let Eivor throw the first fire for the burning. Soon, all of Glowecestre's townspeople watched the Wicker Man burn. As the festival ended, Eivor left for her home, alongside Gunnar and Brigid.[6]

Probing the city, Eivor also claimed two tungsten ingots, one inside an abandoned structure behind the St. Kenhelm's Church, and one at the bottom of a well in the middle of the city.[7] Also, Eivor went to help a town poet profess and find his love, by the use of his love letters.[8]

Order of the Ancients

Through her travels, Eivor found all the clues about one of the Order of the Ancients members, The Vellum. Deducing The Vellum's identity to be Eanbhert, Eivor found that his home happened to be overgrown with vegetation and that it was near the docks of Glowecestre. Locating Eanbhert's home, Eivor broke inside, assassinated the preost, and ended his influence in the city.[9]
