Fairy Pools is a waterfall phenomenon in the southern part of Scotland's Isle of Skye.
History
In the 9th century, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan traveled to the Fairy Pools to find one of the triangular shards for the pedestal in the Cave of Gold. From her investigation, Eivshe or found the shard's holder behind the waterfall, but no shard itself. Leaving the area, the middle of the pools was soon accompanied by an old woman with a bow and a group of wolves. Eivor went and spoke with the old woman.[1]
Speaking with the old woman, Eivor was told to be a sacrifice, as the "fairies" told the woman to commit sacrifices to please them as the woman held the shard. Devising of a plan, Eivor acted on her best interests and retrieved the shard from the old woman. With the shard, she left the area as fast as possible.[1]
