Demosthenes (died 413 BCE) was an Athenian general who lived during the 5th century BCE, and participated in the Peloponnesian War.
He isn't happy with how his leaders in the Athenian army are waging the war. Preferring a different approach, he devises his own strategy and he tasks the protagonist several times with gathering Seals from Spartan generals in order to weaken the Spartan army, much like his Spartan counterpart, Lysander.
Unlike Lysander, he seems to be more humble, less in it for his own gain and more interested in winning the war in the most efficient way possible. Where Lysander wants to prove himself and rise in the ranks, Demosthenes appears to simply want to serve Athens the best way he knows how.
