Zhu Jiuyuan (朱九淵; 1473 – 1524) was a Master Assassin and Mentor of the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins in the early 16th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Following Wang Yangming's disappearance to escape the Great Rites Controversy in 1524, Jiuyuan succeeded him as leader of the Assassins in Beijing and trained the former Imperial concubine Shao Jun from initiate to the full rank of Assassin.[1]

After the Jiajing Emperor initiated a purge of the Assassins under the influence of the Eight Tigers, Jiuyuan fled with Shao Jun to Europe in an attempt to find the Italian Brotherhood's retired Mentor Ezio Auditore and gain his help to rebuild the Chinese Brotherhood. However, Jiuyuan was killed in Venice by Templar agents before they reached Ezio's villa.[1]
