The United States Armed Forces are the military forces of the United States of America. Preceded by the Continental Army and Continental Navy created during the American Revolution,[1] the armed forces played key roles in numerous conflicts through US history, such as during the American Civil War,[2] World War II,[3] and the Vietnam War.[4]
History[edit | edit source]
World War II[edit | edit source]
During World War II, Colonel Boris Pash of the United States Army cut a deal with Templar physicist John von Neumann to create Die Glocke,[5] in the hopes that it would allow him to alter the course of history and pre-emptively kill Adolf Hitler before his rise to power. Thanks to the actions of Eddie Gorm and Julia Dusk, Die Glocke and the Nazis' Apple of Eden fell into Pash's hands.
On 28 October 1943, Pash and von Neumann brought Die Glocke and the Apple of Eden aboard the USS Eldridge on their last attempt at the Philadelphia Project. However, Gorm infiltrated the ship and killed Nikola Tesla, hoping this would stop Pash's project, before subsequently taking his own life.[3]
Pash would later be the leader of the Bloodstone Unit, an extremist Assassin cell deeply linked with the American war effort in Vietnam.[4]
Vietnam War[edit | edit source]

On 2 January 1963, the unit boarded a helicopter from the Tân Hiệp US military base to take part in a communication operation involving the CIA, the United States Army, and the South Vietnamese Army. Despite Zenia's expert piloting skills, the cell was forced to perform an emergency landing when Viet Cong soldiers assaulted the helicopter. While Julia Gorm dispatched the soldiers outside, Zenia joined Alekseï Gavrani and the others in interrogating Cooper, a Templar who had infiltrated the US military. Cooper was then interrogated by Pash on the Templars' plans for Vietnam.[4]
On 2 November 1963, Pash arrived in Saigon, having manipulating the CIA into staging a coup against Templar-backed President of South Vietnam Ngô Đình Diệm, unknowingly provoking a domino effect in the region.[4]
On 30 July 1964, the USS Maddox and other US Navy ships participated in the deception of attacking the North Vietnamese Army disguised as South Vietnamese combatants to create a distraction for Alekseï Gavrani to reach the northern side of Hòn Mê. On the next day Captain John J. Herrick discussed the event with the ship's captain, Commander Herbert Ogier, who argued that they were underestimating the North Vietnamese and asked that he speak with Gavrani, hoping to avoid starting a war. Herrick met with Gavrani who demanded they drop him off in North Vietnam to continue his mission, which Herrick protested but complied in the end.[6]
On 5 April 1968, US Armed forces burned down a Viet Cong base located in Mỹ Tho. This event was then photographed by Army Specialist Fourth Class Dennis Kurpius with Private First Class Raymond Rumpa in the foreground.[7]
