Svanhildr was a Norse warrior and member of the Raven Clan during the 9th century.
When Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir moved to England with a part of her clan, Svanhildr went with her and settled in Ravensthorpe.[1] Around 875 Hunwald of Lincoln, son of ealdorman Hundbeorht entered Ravensthorpe in search of Eivor. After his arrival he met with scout Norvid and Svanhildr and drank some ale at the docks with them. Whilst Hunwald was his typical self, this resulted in Norvid and Svanhildr making a bit of fun of him.[2]
