"Silvestro Sabbatini. Claims to be noble. Dresses the part, but poorly. He is a panderer, buying his way into social circles. Speaking with a black tongue."
―Fiora Cavazza.[src]-[m]

Silvestro Sabbatini (1472 – 1502) was a slave trader, and a member of the Templar Order loyal to Cesare Borgia. Though he claimed to be a nobleman, Silvestro was little more than an infamous panderer, using any means necessary to ascend the social ladder.

In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, in the first stage of training for their Animus recruits, under the title of the Nobleman.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Working for the Borgia[edit | edit source]

Born in 1472, Silvestro was the cousin of Raphael's student Andrea Sabbatini. At some point in his life, he began to work for the Borgia in exchange for an elevation of his social status.[1] Sometime prior to 1502, Silvestro failed in his service to Cesare with a mission involving a courtesan, and the Captain General had Micheletto Corella slice off his left arm as punishment.[2]

However, once Cesare had some need of Silvestro again, Fiora Cavazza was sent to him bearing a mechanical arm crafted by Cesare's personal engineer, representing his second chance.[2]

At first, Silvestro disdainfully objected that the device lacked ornaments, mentioning that he wanted more jewels and rare metals upon it. Though when Fiora offered to return it to Cesare instead, Silvestro quickly snatched it from her, and attached it upon his shoulder.[2]

Re-entering Cesare's service after this, Silvestro began working as a slave trader based on Palatine Hill, kidnapping the people of Rome – men, women, and children alike – and shipping them out of the city by boat.[3]

Despite the second chance he had been granted, Silvestro continued to be extremely sensitive over the loss of his limb.

Death[edit | edit source]

In 1502, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze chanced upon a crying boy, whose mother had been taken by Silvestro and his men. Deciding to free the slaves, Ezio tracked Silvestro down in the Centro District.[3]

From there, he followed him to his base at the Palatine Hill. There, Silvestro spoke with a woman about his slaves, before angrily sending her away after she had inquired about his arm. As Silvestro contemplated murdering her, Ezio sent his Assassin recruits to kill him, and the other soldiers guarding the slaves.[3]
