Ratatosk, also called Ratatoskr, was a squirrel in Norse mythology who carried slanderous gossip between the serpent Níðhǫggr at the bottom of Yggdrasil and an eagle perched at the top.[1]

Mythology[edit | edit source]

Odin once won a flyting contest against them.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The voice of Ratatosk was provided by Idun Mealor Olsen, who also voices Asta, Kaija, and the young Eivor Varinsdottir in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.[3]

The name "Ratatoskr" is Old Norse for either "drill-tooth" or "bore-tooth."
