Animus Next was a Chinese-only webpage used to promote the Assassin's Creed franchise to newcomers. It was only accessible through Ubisoft's Chinese site and presented itself as promotional media for Abstergo Industries and its Animus product.

First teased on 15 August 2022 with a Chinese blog post with "ComingSoon" written in Morse code,[1] Animus Next was launched in China on the Chinese-language Ubisoft website on 27 August.[2] After a trailer was released to promote the website, the Assassin's Creed fan site Access the Animus released an English-translated version of the trailer onto their YouTube channel.[3] By May 2023, the URL had suffered link rot and displayed an HTTP 404 error code,[4] but as of 6 January 2025, it redirects back to Ubisoft's Chinese main page. Perhaps most strangely, the site's "About Us" section contained what a message from Abstergo's CEO Alan Rikkin despite the fact that the position has been left vacant since 2016 after the Assassin Callum Lynch killed him in London.[5]
