Mayda was an Anglo-Saxon woman who lived in the Viking settlement of Ravensthorpe in England during the 9th century.
Daughter to Bronson, they joined the settlement and started a fowl farm. Eivor eventually issued a house for Mayda to be build[1] after she fell in love with Bertham from the cattle farm and her father didn't approve of their relationship.[2]
During the Ēostre festival Mayda was crowned May Queen, and tasked Eivor Varinsdottir with collecting a crown that was worthy of a strong woman and not only adorned with flowers.[3]
