Maeldun's Saltern Camp was a Anglo-Saxon camp in eastern Essexe. Within the camp, there are a series of pools where the seawater is left to evaporate to create salt.
History[edit | edit source]
In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir traveled to Maeldun's Saltern Camp to investigate and find information about the business of the Weever fish supply. Upon her investigation, Eivor probed its second floor and found a clue, which led to the identity of an Order member called The Sickle: Heika of Friesland. The information detailed that Heika worked in Colcestre as a baker and used the Weever fish scales to poison Order targets.[1]
Throughout her travels, Eivor further investigated Maeldun's Saltern Camp and found a locked chest within the camp. Eivor obtained the key from a soldier and later claimed a Nickel ingot from the soldier. Afterwards, Eivor later opened the chest and collected another Nickel ingot.[2]
