- "A spy reports Lysander, the Spartan admiral, may be on board the Lakedaimonia. Take out this ship to give Athens a supreme advantage at war."
- ―Description of the ship on the message board[src]

The Lakedaimonia was a war trireme constructed by the Spartan navy deployed during the Peloponnesian War.
History[edit | edit source]
The mighty trireme was constructed to transport Spartan elite and royalty, and thus was not just grand to see, but also deadly. During the Peloponnesian War, rumours spread that Lysander, a notable admiral of the Spartan army, was travelling aboard the Lakedaimonia. Due to this, Athens offered a notable bounty to whoever took down the ship.[1]
At some point between 429 and 422 BCE, the trireme was destroyed by the Adrestia commanded by the misthios Kassandra, who claimed the ship's sails and finery for her own. Lysander was not aboard the Lakedaimonia.[1]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The name of the ship references Lacedaemonia, the name borne by Lakonia in antiquity.
- The emblem adorning the ship is a stylized labyrinth.
