Gulf of Tonkin

The Gulf of Tonkin is a gulf off the coasts of northern Vietnam and south China. It houses the archipelago of Hòn Mê.

History[edit | edit source]

By 2 January, 1963, the Bloodstone Unit had a base on the Gulf of Tonkin and unit members Alekseï Gavrani, William Greer, Julia Gorm, and Zenia brought Templar infiltrator Cooper to their leader, Boris Pash, for interrogation about President Ngô Đình Diệm. While there, Gavrani voiced to Zenia about his opinion against Pash's torturous methods of interrogation and his methods of training using Project BLUEBIRD to make complicit soldiers. However, Pash overheard his opinions and dismissed Gavrani from the unit.[1]

On July 1964, the USS Maddox, along with other United States Navy ships, arrived at the Gulf to create a distraction for Alekseï Gavrani to reach the northern side of Hòn Mê. Although Gavrani infiltrated the area, he saw that Pash ordered his soldiers, led by Dhogura, to burn any evidence. Soon, Dhogura and Gavrani fought against each other, with Gavrani ultimately killing his former teammate.[2]
