A view of Eresos

Eresos is a town located in the Petrified Valley region of Lesbos, Greece. During the classical period the town was a polis, and known as the birthplace of the poet Sappho.

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the city, and assisted a local resident Bryce with finding her lover Ligeia, a member of the Daughters of Artemis.[1]
