Travelers' Camp

The Travelers' Camp was an encampment east of AlUla Cemetery in Southern Wilds, Al-Ula Valley. Its was a stop for many different merchants and so included a stable for their many mounts.

History[edit | edit source]

In the 860, the Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq and his peddler friend Dervis journeyed to al-Ula to follow leads on Basim's father Ishaq ibn Khalid, whom rumor held was still alive and in the area. Joining the camp, they erected a tent that they used as a headquarters while conducting their investigations.[1]

During Basim's time in the region, he climbed a nearby rock to better orient himself, taking note of other landmarks from above.[2] At the camp, a merchant asked Basim to sample a new drink he was selling. After trying coffee for the first time, Basim suggested the addition of milk, much to the merchant's disdain.[3]

Some time after, a local robber gang ambushed Basim[4] and held him captive in Musa ibn Nusayr Fort for their apparent leader 'Abis to fatally poison. Basim broke out of his cell and killed 'Abis in his lab, but not without being poisoned in return with a psychoactive concoction. Basim collapsed while attempting to return to safety but a passing civilian found him unconscious and alerted Dervis, who took Basim back to their camp to nurse him back to health.[5]
