Berk, also known as Berk the Bard, was a Norse bard in England during the 9th century.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Berk was a bard who lived in Donecaestre, Eurviscire. He would often compose songs about heroic tales or people of renown. When the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan traveled through the city, she encountered Berk, who suggested writing a song about Eivor's legendary deeds for only 295 silver, which she accepted.[1]
