Kort was a Norseman who lived in Stavanger in the late 9th century.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 866, Kort attended a mannjafnadr between Thorsteinn Silvertongue and Bjorn at Harholl, where the former proved his innocence in front of Harald Fairhair. He later agreed in the subsequent exile of Bjorn.[1] For the next four years, he also joined raids across England.
In 870, Kort returned home and joined a feast at Alrekstad, recalling a raid with Sigmund, Frode, and Thorsteinn.[2] Within a year, he later joined jarl Guthrum on more raids, but upon returning home, he and his men wished to stay to be with their families. When Gunnhilda came back home in Eikundarsund, she asked Kort to join her and Thorsteinn to settle in England, but respectfully declined.[3]
