At the Academy's entrance was the Altar of Love, dedicated to the gods Eros and Anteros, and near it was the Altar of Prometheus which was used as the starting point of torch relays.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra infiltrated the occupied place in search of a few items Alkibiades had asked her to retrieve.[2]
