Boston North End[edit source]
I'd just like to say you're doing some great work with the multiplayer pages, getting them images and all. However, is there any chance you can find a version of the aerial image that doesn't have a watermark on it? (Ubisoft logo in the bottom corner) Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 21:44, August 1, 2013 (UTC)
Oh damn. I totally didn't see that there. I just procure my images from the internet, one of the admins on the Ubisoft Forums posted them some time ago. I'm afraid all I can do is cut off the partition with the watermark on it. I don't really like that as a solution, but I can't think of anything else. I've had a browse, but I haven't found one for Boston North End without a watermark :/ Crookandcharlatan (talk) 21:53, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, the pages I edit usually already have images, which aren't always set at 250px. I'll try to be more vigilant in the future :) Crookandcharlatan (talk) 21:58, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

Nice! You have made your mark. I also want to congratulate you on creating Mushrooms, contributing a lot to pages, and in particular, multiplayer pages, and putting up community discussions for changing images. Mentoring[edit source]
Hey, Crookandcharlatan, I was looking through the IRC logs and noticed you were looking for a mentor. I am available, if you're shopping. My most recent Apprentice, Arcemz, has graduated, and he is considering when to go through the nomination and approval process for the Bureau. I'm usually on IRC from 9ish-midnight CDT, and my IRCbot, TheRaven, takes messages for me. Just let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Thanks. DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 04:07, September 3, 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the offer, DarkFeather :) There's a bit of a problem with timezones though; if my calculations are correct, you're on the IRC when I'm asleep ^^; 9PM for you corresponds to 4 AM for me. That's a bit of an inconvenience, since I'm likely to be hitting you up for advice often (I assume), and I'd prefer to do that in conversation. Regardless I'd be honoured to have you as mentor :) Crookandcharlatan (talk) 06:37, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Apprenticeship[edit source]
Hey, Crook. You beat me to it, but I wanted to confirm we will be paired for the Apprentice Initiative.
- To answer your IRC question, I think we can make it work -- I will available most of the day Saturdays, which seems to include the time you're usually on. When you usually log off is about an hour before I can log in, so for critical problems you can always catch me then. Otherwise, my talkpage and TheRaven will be waiting for you. If you are available tomorrow, please try to sign in during your normal hours and I will meet you then so we can talk about this.
- For your first assignment, please revamp Aveline de Grandpré to Manual of Style standards. From my first-pass look at it, the referencing needs some updating -- general standards usually recommend a sourcing at the end of each paragraph. Moreover, the paragraphing is a bit abbreviated in places and could be unified into more substantial units; there also areas of grammar errors, etc. that can be repaired. Make sure you sandbox your edits -- I've taken the liberty of creating you a second sandbox and tagging the page with the App Revamp template.
Thanks, and welcome to the Initiative! DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 03:10, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
Finished[edit source]
Hey crook, just so you know, when you update the article you have finished revamping, remove the Apprentice template at the top :> --Fragment -Animus- 00:55, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
- Just to make sure you've fully revamped Aveline's page, could you include the part where Aveline rescues Therese and brings her to Madeleine? It seems a little out of place to introduce her at the Chichen Itza part, since it assumes that the reader has already encountered her.
- Edit: Before I forget, a useful tip to remember is that you can put the first capital of any page you want to link to as it is in lowercase. For example, whip can simply be placed as whip and still be a correct link. However, when you use another name for the hyperlink, make sure the original page is typed out how it is before the "|", and that the rule cannot be used in such a way: siege of masyaf is invalid, as opposed to siege of Masyaf. Slate Vesper (talk) 01:19, September 13, 2013 (UTC)
- Also, another tip (for future reference) make sure if you ever do a historical revamp to not include TOO much information, as sometime too much is either not necessary or just takes away from the article itself...but your Aveline revamp is lookin good (so this tip doesnt really directly apply to it lel) :> --Fragment -Animus- 01:34, September 13, 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips, guys ^^
- To Slate: I wanted to include Thérèse, but I was unsure how to incorporate it since it would kind of drag out the entire section under Asssassination of Governor d'Abbadie. I'll try and see if I can still get her in there, or under a different header :)
- To Frag: I know, I was following the general rule that a paragraph should be somewhere between 3-5 sentences long and I really struggled with it at some points. Return to Chichen Itza sounds a bit awkward, so I might go and redo that as well. I'll keep the "degree of detail" in mind.

AC3L*, PS Vita* :P Slate Vesper (talk) 14:21, September 16, 2013 (UTC)
- ACL? You mean Assassin's Creed III: Liberation for the PS Vita? I actually don't have it, I recently watched a playthrough of it on youtube. I don't have any actual on-hands experience with the game, but I suppose I can give you some pointers.
- Apparently it has some framerate issues (it's the Vita after all; Liberation is a pretty big game for a portable console), especially if you're running through the environment really fast. New Orleans seems more fun to free-run through than Boston or New York :) Aside from that it has the occasional minor glitch, but nothing too serious (don't quote me on this though, player experience can vary and I might've just seen a playthrough by a lucky person :P). The graphics are impressive for the Vita, but obviously can't be compared to consoles/pc. The story is a little disjointed, but Aveline as a protagonist is quite badass. Also some of the special Vita features can be quite gimmicky - apparently one involves pointing a light at the Vita's camera or something, and it doesn't always function as it should.
- You might want to wait for the HD re-release though, in early 2014. I'm very excited for it, personally :) Crookandcharlatan (talk) 14:23, September 16, 2013 (UTC)

- You do not need to, see Teller's blog. Ranks are: Recluta, Servitore, Assistente, Milite, Disceplolo, Mercenario, Guerriero, Sentinela, Mandatario, Silenziatore, Operativo, Veterano, Assassino, Maestro, and Maestro Assassino. Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 11:32, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Nesty told me those are outdated; I think apprentices only need to ascend 10 ranks now before being (possibly) promoted into the the bureau. That blog post was made quite some time ago, so it's natural things have changed :) I feel I might have made a mistake, calling myself "assistente" when I was rank 2... Harvested v real name[edit source]
Hi Crook, I've noticed that you've gone through all the Animi Avatar articles and changed "real name" to "harvested from"; I'm not sure that is, strictly speaking, correct, as it implies they took the memories from the characters directly, rather than from one of their ancestors. I'll leave it up to you to choose what to do... --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:11, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Descendants, Jasca. Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 16:15, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Eugh, true enough. I always get that wrong... my point remains though. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:18, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Abstergo would have to get to that ancestor and then harvest the memories of said ancestor to enable them to create their Animi Avatars. Whoever they used to get there has never been elaborated, so we can't really go into that part. Slate Vesper (talk) 16:20, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- It seems your question's been answered, for I take too long in writing up replies :P It was Slate who jumpstarted that change by the way, I just went along with it. I suppose "harvested from" represents better that the Animi Avatars are based on the characters? Crook The Constantine District 16:22, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's talking about changing "Harvested" to something else, not mentioning the descendants in which the memories were harvested from Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 16:24, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
EDIT: That was for Slate. Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 16:25, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed. Since the memories were not harvested directly from, for example, Vlad Tepes, but rather a descendant of his (who's name we do not know), I would probably think it better to change it back to "real name", or something to that effect. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:27, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I do think the same, Jasca. I support your idea, but that sounds like a bit OOU... Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 16:30, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- The genetic memories were harvested from the counterpart to the Animi Avatar's lifetime. For instance, despite being from an unknown descendant, the genetic memories were harvested from Vlad Tepes' lifetime, which Abstergo accessed through Vlad's descendant.
- Also, having "harvested from" prevents users coming to the wiki and believing that Vlad Tepes and the Count are one in the same, even though the Count was produced as a 3D model in Abstergo's Animi applications. Slate Vesper (talk) 16:35, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

On Allies of the Templars and Assassins in AC3[edit source]
Hi. Well if you read they're profiles, (Dr. Wolcott's and Alsoomse's) Dr. Wolcott was obvious commissioned if not hired from time to time by the English Colonial Assassins branch as an on-call interigator and torturer for them, since he worked almost exclusively on Templar 'patients'. And thanks for bringin' that up about Alsoomse, guess she was an ally to the Enlgish Colonial brotherhood branch after all. If it's alright with you, I'm gonna switch back Dr. Wolcott in the two member's lists. But yeah. Thanks for noticin' my editin' contributions to this wonderful wiki we love! ^_^
Have a good one, friend. M4 C-Corp (talk) 21:14, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
- I have read both their profiles and I'd like to argue the contrary. The two paragraphs below constitute the hacked version of Victor Wolcott's biography:
- A learned man of science, Dr. Wolcott thrived on the acquisition of knowledge and power. He had a particular fascination with biology, medicine and the { { inner workings of the human body } }> occult; so much so that it was rumored he had devised an elixir potent enough to keep his Templar patients alive well beyond traditional medicine’s capabilities.
- (I wonder if Wolcott's research was based on Flamel's work...I bet Giovanni and Maria would know!)
- You'll notice the biography focuses on keeping Templar patients "alive", in fact, there's not a mention of torture. I know that the "torture" part appears in the Wiki article, but that piece of information comes from an external source, the Ubisoft site itself, which is put second to information given to us by the game. Another thing that does not stroke with the Assassins is the mention of "power"; the Assassins are not focused on power, but on liberty and equality, they would not consort with an individual such as Wolcott. I also believe that if they wanted somebody tortured, I'm sure there'd be enough members within the order that were capable of such things.
- So yeah, in my opinion, Wolcott does belong with the Templars rather than the Assassins (don't you think his design is kind of obviously evil?). I'll be switching him back to the article I'd originally put him, if you have any objections, please write up a reply :)
- Thank you for your recent edits by the way; this one just happens to be one I disagree with. Crook The Constantine District 21:46, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Hello there, again, Crook. I have read that hacked version of his profile that Erudito 'leaked' to us in multiplayer that is. Well yes, I guess he was an on-call doctor for the Templars than the Assassins. Thanks for lettin' me know that. Also I was actin' hastly and was just excited to make those lists and edited them as such today. Other than that, since I'm not big into the multiplayer of this game (it's not for me, I've tried it... trust me) do you know any vids or anywhere online where I can read all the actual profiles shown in the game or are the profiles on this wiki just as good if not better? Just askin'. Thanks for correctin' me too though.
- The Abstergo Story has the hacked profiles of all AC3 multiplayer characters, if that's what you're looking for :) Most of the times, the Wiki articles for the characters also suffice, but just in case you want the information directly from the game.
- And no worries, I've made mistakes during hasty editing as well. Thanks for your contributions and I hope you stick around ^^ Crook The Constantine District 10:17, October 19, 2013 (UTC)
- Ah ha. I hear ya. Thanks for redirctin' me to that entry as well. It does have all of them on there and I'll go through all of them then. Thanks for that link too! :3 But yeah, I'm a history major and a history buff in general and this time period is still looked upon with a great deal of scrutiny today as Achilles stated to Connor in-game. Still it's too bad that Alsoomse and Nukilik's characters were made up by Abstergo as revealed by Erudito in the hacked avatar profiles. Oh well. Begger's can't be choosers right? Plus you're welcome on my edits/contributions recently. I think I will be stickin' round for a long time. Have a good one! ^__^

Edit[edit source]
Hey, Neutraliser was wrong... He said "was likely" and it WAS never stated in the database. The database entry on Blackbeard I think said "in Bristol", not "likely in Bristol". I would gladly pull back if you proven me wrong...
Cheers,
AgentG231 (talk) 10:07, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
- I quote, from the database: "Known variously by different sources as Thatch, Teach, Theach, Tache, Tiche, Teatch, Tack, and more, we are fairly certain this Edward was born in or around Bristol and took to the seas...". In our article, "Edward Thatch was most likely born in Bristol" is simply a paraphrase, hence, it's correct.
- Also, even if the database had said "we are certain", instead of "we are fairly certain", then your undoing an edit would still be wrong. You would've needed to delete the 'most likely', not the 'was' that Neutralizer added. Again, you should read more closely in the future, before undoing other people's edits :/ Crook The Constantine District 10:14, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

Mary Read trivia[edit source]
I wanted to ask why you think the items that were removed from the Mary Read page aren't trivia-worthy. The first one actually answers a question that people have come to the wiki to ask, and I feel like the second exists in lieu of a longer Legacy section. Is there anything in particular about them that makes them unacceptable as trivia? Molotov.cockroach (talk) 01:41, December 10, 2013 (UTC)
- No, I don't know if there actual "rules" as to what information can be called "trivia". Anyways, I felt the first piece I removed belonged in the main biography; the second piece I could see being reinstated if it goes more into the meaning, because just "Mary Read appeared in lots of Edward's visions" feels a little dry and meaningless; the third piece was already mentioned in her infobox, so that was obsolete. Anyways, feel free to check up with others if you really feel these bits need to be in the Trivia section.

Liberation Images[edit source]
Hello...I have done all the liberation photos...Even Roussillon :D
- Awesome, the new picture for Vazquez is much better than the old one; Baptiste looks great as well :) As for Roussillon... well, he'd be perfect if not for his hair. It's supposed to be the same shade as his beard, so I'm not sure why it's much darker. If you could fix that up, you'll be rid of my whining about all the Liberation images :P Truly, thank you for all the work you've done so far.
- By the way, I noticed the render of Caroline Scott-Kenway you uploaded. Again, not really sure why the colours are different, but Caroline's hair leans more towards orange-red, rather than outright scarlet. If possible, I suggest you look for a different model for Caroline, cause that's the one used only for one cutscene (in which she's in bed with Edward). She probably has a model for her regular clothes as well, so if you could find it, that'd be great. Crook The Constantine District 14:16, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Alphonse de Marigot[edit source]
Alphonse de Marigot was a merchant, because he worked aboard a merchant ship, and eventually took over his masters business.--188.180.174.234 19:07, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for reading my message,
- Well, just because he worked on a merchant ship doesn't mean he was a merchant himself, he could've been a deckhand for all we know. However, after thinking on it for a bit, I suppose he can have the category "Merchant". I didn't consider the "patron" to be the same person that owned the brigantine, but seeing as his biography doesn't really indicate another person, I suppose it must have been. I'll add the category back.
- By the way, it would be cool if you made yourself an actual account :) Unfortunately, anonymous contributors are more likely to vandalize the wiki rather than contribute it, which is why the senior edits are automatically just a tad more suspicious of edits by anons. It would probably make it easier for you to choose a username under which you edit. Anyways, you don't have to, it's just a suggestion. Crook The Constantine District 19:56, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
- You could say he was a merchant because he inherited the business of his former employer after the man's death. He'd then have to operate those sugar plantations and sell the produce. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:10, February 16, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol[edit source]
Hi, I was wondering if the Indian Assassin symbol was included in the new edition of the encyclopedia and if not, do you mind removing the background of this image as a placeholder. Thanks! Raghava Shah 15:41, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Raghava (or is it Shah? I'm not sure how to shorten your name ^^;)
- So I had a browse through the encyclopedia; the symbol you linked me actually doesn't appear at all in the book. I've checked the Assassin Order section, the Sikh Empire section, the Brahman characters section (both historical and modern) but I couldn't find it anywhere.
- The only way it appears is as the "jewelry" Arbaaz Mir wears on his right arm (it's the same image we use on Arbaaz's article). As such, I don't think the symbol you linked me can be used for the Indian Assassins' article because it only exists in relation to Arbaaz Mir :s You might need to consult one of the moderators for this, but in my opinion, we shouldn't use it on the Indian Assassins' article.
- Ah by the way, I've seen your edit on the Indian Assassins article (thank you for that btw; it might need some slight fix-ups, but that's a lot easier than creating a section out of nothing). Here's something you need to know for future editing: if you want to link to an article on the wiki you can do so by typing, for example, Arbaaz Mir. The reason you can see the square brackets right now is because I used some fancy code :3 Without the fancy code, typing Arbaaz Mir automatically becomes Arbaaz Mir. On the surface, it looks exactly what you're doing while editing, but the links you use are much more complicated code-wise (Arbaaz Mir vs ). Do you see what I mean? If you could adopt this new approach, it'd be a lot more efficient code-wise :) Crook The Constantine District 16:00, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah I usually do Arbaaz Mir but I copied some of the info from another article so it showed up all long. And for the symbol, thanks for the help and I hope I didn't cause any inconvenience. Raghava Shah 17:36, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
- No worries, it wasn't a problem :) Crook The Constantine District 17:40, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
Begun/Began[edit source]
Just some advice. Both terms are correct. Just let me show you these two sentences. "The war began" "The war had begun" I'm sure you can see the difference -- Altaïr 01:13, March 28, 2014 (UTC)
- The difference is the first sentence is a past simple, and the second sentence a past perfect. Technically, there is a minor difference in meaning between the two. Nesty Contact me! 05:32, March 28, 2014 (UTC)
- I fail to see how your examples clarify anything, Altaïr. My problem was not with the difference between "began" (simple past of "to begin") and "begun" (past participle of "to begin").
- Rather, I was referring to Slate's use of "had began", which, to my knowledge, isn't correct, since "began" does not need an auxiliary. However, I have seen him use this construction a number of times, and, as he's a native speaker (unlike me) I was not a 100% sure about it being wrong. Crook The Constantine District 05:56, March 28, 2014 (UTC)
- I just gave examples in which way you use begun and then began. Yeah one is simple past and the other is a past particle. I just went with what my wife said since she is British. When she gave the examples I heard how one was wrong. But could I explain that one was 'past particle' and the other 'simple past'? No, lol... I just wanted to clear up confusion by using two examples how you use them. -- Altaïr 08:52, March 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Alright; sorry if I seemed a bit short with you this morning, I only had a couple hours of sleep and your message felt a bit patronizing (though I'm sure you didn't mean it that way). I study English at a university level, so I'm well aware of the way tenses differ from each other in their use and meaning. I was just confused by Slate's use of "have/had began", because, as far as I know, that's wrong. As I said though, he's a native speaker, so perhaps "have/had begun" is accepted in British English. It could also be colloquial or simply a mistake :P Crook The Constantine District 12:47, March 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Since I'm being discussed here, I figure I should at least explain myself. I didn't quite know the explicit difference between "begun" and "began". Since I knew both were past tense and "began" stuck in my mind more, I went with that. Now that I know "begun" is used with "have/had", and "began" excludes that, I have more intuition about the subject going forward. All I'm glad is that it hasn't affected a lot of the articles with my writing sense. Slate Vesper (talk) 02:03, March 29, 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I just wanted to be helpful, though I know that I'm not as helpful as I think I am. I mean my English isn't perfect, so it would be hypocrite to judge others for their English. I just thought that you (Crookandcharlatan), thought one of them wasn't correct at all. While as you already know yourself they're used for different purposes. Anyway it's not a big deal. Like Slate said, no big damage is done and I don't think that with this in general, me here posting on your talk board, more harm was done. So best is to move on, I think. See you around guys. I still have Black Flag to complete! -- Altaïr 02:21, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Master Templars[edit source]
Rogers and du Casse are Master Templars when Torres gave them Templar rings. Joker0002710 (talk) 11:25, April 21, 2014 (UTC)Joker0002710
- Crook, sorry to butt in but Joker, it doesn't mean that they are Master Templars when they are given the rings. :/ -- AgentG231 (talk) 11:29, April 21, 2014 (UTC)
- Joker, the position of "Master Templar" is, at the moment, terribly obscure and there's not really any signifier as to when a Templar becomes a Master Templar. The rings signify that du Casse and Rogers are, at that point, officially part of the Templar Order - it's their induction so to speak (as occurred with Haytham Kenway and Charles Lee in Assassin's Creed III), not a promotion to the position of Master Templar. In fact, the reason we know of five Master Templars at the moment is because they are the only ones that have been explicitly identified as such.Crook The Constantine District 11:33, April 21, 2014 (UTC)

- Ah, I am busy with revamping her and have got most stuff done - just need to rewrite her legacy and personality section. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of exams/finals right now, so the wiki is a little low on my priority list; I will be getting back to Aveline's article, so I can finish up the version in my sandbox and submit it to Featured, but it won't be until July, I'm afraid. Crook The Constantine District 16:06, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
Speaking of, could you whip up a page for Liberation outfits? I'll be on a screenshot rampage there soon, again. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:38, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
- I'm free starting Tuesday afternoon, so if you could hold up till then, that'd be great. I presume for the outfit page, I'd need to include every colour variation of the three personas? Do I need to include the hats/hood as well? The only other outfit I can think of off the top of my head are the winter robes Aveline wears in Sequence 8. Unless you'd somehow be able to screenshot Aveline in her nightdress :P Oh yeah, and little Aveline.
- Btw, if you wouldn't mind, do you think you could get screenshots of the De Grandpré Mansion, Congo Square and Madame John's Legacy? Sanadsk, god rest his soul, vanished before he could get me those :P Crook The Constantine District 20:47, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, Crook, I can. That said, little and winter Aveline go into temporary outfits section. Hats will have their own one too. And yes, every single color for all the personas. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:50, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
- You wanted a particular Liberation image sometime ago, innit? Something with smugglers? I'm doing a fresh run, so you can remind me now. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 22:08, June 25, 2014 (UTC)
- Well, since you offered I decided to quickly go through all the Liberation memories we have screenshots for already and see if there's anything we could add. The smuggler image is from The Lighthouse memory btw.
- Taking Care of Business - a screenshot in which you can see Carlos Dominguez's face (it's a bit unfortunate that in all three, his face is turned away from the camera).
- The Loas Guide You - a screenshot of Aveline freerunning along one of the long branches (this is a very minor one, so if you don't feel like it, feel free to skip).
- Elegant and Deadly - a screenshot of a tailor shop (I assume we'll need one for the Tailors article?)
- Trail of Truth - one or more screenshots of Aveline conversing with the slave she rescued in the previous memory (I know you missed out on this one due to crappy replay system).
- The Secret of the Cenote - a screenshot of the cavern's interior (another one that isn't strictly necessary, but I thought the cavern had quite a few "beautiful" areas and I felt it was a bit of a shame you didn't screenshot any of them. Again, if you don't feel like it, feel free to skip)
- The Lighthouse - one or more screenshots of Aveline conversing with the smugglers (again, a scene you missed out on due to crappy replay system; this is probably the most important screenshot that is still missing, for me at least :p)
- Confronting Agaté - a screenshot of the first scene between Aveline and Agaté (the one that ends with him pulling a machete on her; don't know if you missed this one due to crappy replay system, but I would like to have an image of it, if possible)
- Well, since you offered I decided to quickly go through all the Liberation memories we have screenshots for already and see if there's anything we could add. The smuggler image is from The Lighthouse memory btw.
- That's it. There's other stuff to be done as well (like a screenshot of the Louisiana Bayou and San Danje), but memory-wise, this is pretty much my wishlist. Thanks again :) Crook The Constantine District 22:57, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Misspelling[edit source]
If it is spelled that way, it should have (sic) after it to indicate the deliberate mis-spelling.
Marino312 (talk) 15:18, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
- I tried to fix it, but it looks weird now. Sorry, I was totally unaware of this rule/practice. Crook The Constantine District 15:26, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe we should just mention it in a footnote...
Marino312 (talk) 15:29, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
- Another user cleaned it up, so it looks alright now. Thanks for pointing the "sic" thing out for me. Crook The Constantine District 15:31, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. Did you know that Black Flag generates every noun in the game with a capital as a homage to a work about pirates from that era. Technically, every article on this wiki that has dialogue from that game is either wrong or should have Sic after it! Marino312 (talk) 16:46, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, we know about that. There was actually discussion about that shortly after Black Flag's release - to use capitalized nouns or not. I think we even used quotes with capitalized nouns in them for a while, like, the way the subtitles were done.
- I wasn't really a fan of that tbh, cause it jarred with other quotes that didn't use Black Flag's style, so I'm glad we just decided to get rid of the capitals. They didn't really add anything of value to the wiki itself as a database. Adding "sic" to everything sounds like it would've been a bit of bother too :p Crook The Constantine District 17:06, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

In Bocca al Lupo & Mass Exodus[edit source]
Man, i change In Bocca al Lupo and Mass Exodus, to make sure people that after In Bocca al Lupo, in chronologically, its continue to Mass Exodus. Why you edit it?
FarhanSF (talk) 05:18, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry about that. Another editor had initially reverted your edit and when you re-added it, I followed suit and reverted it for the same reason, when I should've stopped and thought a bit about it. The interlinking between memories that are from different games isn't done anywhere else on the wiki, so I wasn't entirely sure.
- Anyways, short of it is, I talked to some other people on the wiki about it and decided that it is useful to link between In Bocca al Lupo and Mass Exodus. I did add the respective games between brackets though, so it's clear to people that these memories come from different games. Sorry for the hassle, I shouldn't have been so quick in undoing your edit. Crook The Constantine District 09:44, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- I still oppose this, just so you know. Because if we're going with "Let's link all Ezio games together into a neat timeline", Discovery and Revelations should also be linked this way. Thing is - where would you place them? Given how Discovery is between sequences of AC2, and Revelations had to be placed after Da Vinci Disappearance. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:01, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't see the harm in linking these two together since chronologically, they follow up on each other near instantly? I don't know about Discovery and Revelations, but if we're not sure where to place them timeline-wise, I don't think the intergame linking is really necessary.Crook The Constantine District 11:06, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- You don't see us linking Rashid's Assassination with The Mentor's Wake, do you, even though it's the exactly same principle. Interlinking the games like that is gonna cause more confusion than anything else, and people will later find more convoluted reasons to add more links like that, like "this appears chronologically, but these 11 other memories appear game-wise, let's add them." --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:11, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- I'm aware this is total nitpicking, but In Bocca al Lupo and Mass Exodus follow directly onto one another, they literally segue into one another with Minerva's speech. With Al Mualim's Assassination and The Mentor's Wake, there's evidence time has passed (a funeral pyra was built, Malik was sent to Jerusalem, etc.) between these two memories. Crook The Constantine District 11:50, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- That is true. But my main point being, we're messing with an established, neat order of joining memories by game, in favor of adding random bits from other games to the chain. This will, eventually, be put to a vote anyway, I'm not gonna go on an edit war over this. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:55, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, you can add them. After AC1 end, add Information about ACR (also before intro AC1, connect with ACR when Siege) FarhanSF (talk) 11:14, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
I pray to God you realize that after I created the first memory pages, I always listed both the memory that comes after game-wise and the memory that comes after chronologically. This was done from the start. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:19, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
- And it got lost along the way for a reason, I assume. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:24, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Encyclopedia dates[edit source]
Hi Crook, would you be able to tell me if the third edition of the Encyclopedia places any dates on the "Tainted Blood" and "Ever a Splinter" memories? And does it also give any date for when Giovanni Borgia brought the Crystal Skull back to Bombastus? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:42, July 29, 2014 (UTC)
You left the IRC before I read any of what you said, but yes, that is indeed of help to me, since '1527' was not given as a date in Project Legacy. Thank you. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:14, July 29, 2014 (UTC)
Does the Encyclopedia also shed some further light now on Claudia leaving the Rosa in Fiora in 1504 for Florence yet appearing there again in 1506 in The Da Vinci Disappearance? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:54, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
- It does not, I'm afraid. This is the only thing they give me regarding Claudia's post-Brotherhood activities (hardly surprising, considering the Da Vinci Disappearance isn't even mentioned in Ezio's biography; it only appears in Leonardo's and the Renaissance bit of the storyline overview):
- "Claudia retired as owner of the Rosa in Fiore after being assaulted in 1504, but continued in her capacity as an Assassin, acting as an advisor to her brother Ezio."
- Shouldn't we mention this discrepancy in her article somewhere? Perhaps in the Trivia section? Crook The Constantine District 16:24, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, we should indeed. Kind of surprised me to see that it isn't yet, I thought I had done that already...

I'm afraid I am, and I also did not know what to look for. Would you also be able to check if Anna and Nadya are called Orelov or Orelova? And is there anything else you found in the Encyclopedia that wasn't revealed in any of the other media, so I can add it to the Timeline? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:22, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
And what I REALLY desperately need from you now, is an account of the events between December 1503 and March 1507. From the Renaissance sections, Ezio's, Machiavelli's or Leonardo's entry. There is an error in that the Brotherhood novel says that Ezio hid the Apple in June 1505, while the game says he hid it in 1506. I'll need to determine what's the chronological ladder of events, and I do not have my own Encyclopedia with me now... -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:20, August 8, 2014 (UTC)

- Hmm, I don't really understand... I'd have to switch languages first cause stuff is displayed in Dutch here - which I also don't know to do >.<
- Yes, Maxattac rather clumsily cut out the Guild of Rogues characters from the images I'd asked you to render some time ago. That was actually next on my to-do list after Aveline - I also had a Templar Ring to render, but you'd probably be able to do that faster too (if you're interested, here's the link: store.ubiworkshop.com). Also, I don't have a bureau icon yet; Slate added the template to my userpage, so I haven't had time to decide on something. I'm not even sure what I'd use tbh.

Re: Liberation[edit source]
I can understand why you'd take that stance for ease of editing, though to be honest, I took exactly the opposite approach when considering the game's story; unless it transpired inside one of the Citizen E scenes, I took a hint from the Assassin's Creed itself and considered nothing to be true, hehe. ;-)
On a more serious note, given that at least some of the gameplay mechanics were clearly altered by Abstergo (reducing the notoriety of the Assassin and Lady personas by bribing corrupt officials and murdering innocent witnesses, respectively) and never returned to whatever their true state was, I figured if nothing else, a warning that Liberation-based information might be inaccurate would be the least we could do. Hey!! Its me again......so i uploaded a picyure of the bastard sword on the article 'Bastard Sword'
and i wrote the following thing
Description: a depiction of a bastard sword as seen in assassin'c creed brotherhood
source: Obtained from assassin's creed brotherhood
Artist: none
Liscencing: obtained from wikipedia or another wikiproject
name: Bastard_Sword.jpg
Can you tell me that the feilds which i filled are correct or not.....if not could you tell me what should i have written instead of what i wrote....Jayam (talk) 06:32, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
- Description is fine. Source, I do not agree with. Yes, the image technically comes from Brotherhood, but that is not where you got it from. I'm guessing you found it online somewhere. If you see "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood" cited as a source, that means the image was directly captured from it, as is usually the case with Kain's images - in your case, that's not really accurate. You'd have to link to the site where you found it. Artist is almost always Ubisoft. I'm wagering licensing is wrong too, considering this image probably doesn't come from Wikipedia. You're looking for Screenshot for the licensing.
- While it's good that you're learning to source images, the image is still a bit subpar. It's not positioned the same way as the other Brotherhood weapons and neither is it transparent. Soo, it'll probably still get deleted. Don't focus on in-game imagery, that's Kain's area and speciality. If you are adamant to find images for the wiki, look for concept and promotional images and stuff (that aren't already on the wikia, of course). Crook The Constantine District 12:33, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
You're looking for Screenshots for the licensing- what do you mean by this. how do i correctly liscence it
you told me to give a link the website as source but on the image policy it was written 'All images uploaded to the Assassin's Creed Wiki must be sourced with the original source rather than any website that the image may have been found on. For example, an image of Ezio Auditore da Firenze may have been found on a website containing a gallery of Assassin's Creed images, but that is not a proper image source to put. Instead, the image should be sourced to the media it originally came from, be it a game, novel or concept art.'
So if i link it to the website from where i got it....wouldnt that be wrong....according to the policy
and you were saying that something is wrong with my image that its transparent and all....could you show me what is the correct type....Jayam (talk) 13:27, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
- You simply type Screenshots (I forgot the 's' before, my bad) in the "Licensing" area. That's all there is to it.
- As for the policy thing... I had no idea lol. I've always just cited the website - I find that more useful, because some places are always useful for finding screenshots/concept art. By listing them as the source, I can find the site again if I happen to forget the name of it. I only use the games themselves as sources if the image comes from it directly, so a screenshot basically.
- Your image is not transparent. Transparent means it has no background. Your image has a white background, so it's not transparent, and the wiki primarily uses transparent images (when it comes to in-game material anyways - concept art is never made transparent, unless no alternative image exists). The correct type would be any other weapon image you find. Knife for example, has a transparent background. Crook The Constantine District 13:51, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
what all things come under the category 'in-game'...i'm asking this because i was browsing through pages and i came accros the article'scholars' and it contained images of ezio and altair blending with scholars.....isn't that in game too?? Jayam (talk) 14:03, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, those are also in-game screenshots. Crook The Constantine District 14:12, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
so you said that the wiki always uses transparent images when it comes to in game material and that screenshot is in game....so shouldn't it be deleted s its not transparent??Jayam (talk) 14:17, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
- No. That's a screenshot of an in-game "scene", so to speak - it doesn't need to be made transparent. The images we want transparent are those that depict objects (like weaponry) or individuals. Crook The Constantine District 14:20, November 4, 2014 (UTC)

- Description, source, artist, licensing, etc. go on the image file's summary (that would be here), not the article itself. As you can see, the image you uploaded was marked for deletion because it's a duplicate, it already exists on the wiki. I'll add the original image as a temporary solution and wait for Kain to take a screenshot. Crook The Constantine District 15:00, November 4, 2014 (UTC)
Juno resurfaced at an Assassin laboratory in Protvino, Russia, taking possession of Galina Voronina's mother, who was suffering from the Bleeding Effect. Galina found her mother babbling about the death of Aita, before ending her life, at which point Juno, who could be seen on the Animus monitors, screamed and disappeared- i read this in the article 'juno'.....does this mean that juno had taken over the body of valina's mother and that valina, unknowinlgy killed her???
So the threat of juno has ended?
Is this why the juno in the monitor screamed? because she died???Jayam (talk) 07:11, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
??????Jayam (talk) 13:29, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
- Oh hey Jayam
- I didn't reply to your previous question because by the time I read it, you had already received an answer from Sima, whom you had posed the same question. Was his answer not satisfactory or something? Crook The Constantine District 13:32, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
He said that killing juno would be as simple as that and it would be very anticlimatic to show her death in Initiates, a medium that only reaches a small fraction of the people who play Assassin's Creed games. Isn't initiates famous and reaches every Assassins Creed Gamer an the other's who didn't know what had happenned would eventually get to know as this big of a news would definitely reach social media...
P.S. where is kainzorus Prime i didnt see him on the achievements page??Jayam (talk) 14:59, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
- Juno is one of the series' biggest antagonist. For her to die in a side-medium like Initiates would be clumsy storytelling. Initiates is not all that famous by the way; many fans probably don't know what it's about. That's what Sima means basically. So Juno is definitely not dead. What happened in Protvino was a setback, nothing more.
- As for Kain, he's been banned, so that's why he doesn't show up on the achievement list anymore. Crook The Constantine District 15:08, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
Outfits[edit source]
Crook, if you've got time, would you create outfit page for Rogue? I got a vid for you to help - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt5eRhXF4y8 --Kainzorus Prime ⚜ Walkie-talkie 13:49, November 12, 2014 (UTC)
Kaaaaiiin, I've got homework :( Also, I plan on actually playing Rogue first, so, ya know. Might take a while. Btw, where are those outfit images for Liberation? I made that page ages ago :P
- Evidently I needed to pay more attention to the "if you've got time" bit. At the moment, I don't really. The free time I have, I intend to spend on playing Rogue. I also still have some stubs to unstub and Liberation's page to revamp... I'll see if I can't squeeze it in at some point, but it might be easier and quicker to ask somebody else.
- (My point about the Liberation outfit still stands btw). Crook The Constantine District 17:24, November 12, 2014 (UTC)
Unity delivery[edit source]
Hey Crook, just letting you know that your copy of Unity has arrived. Now I have to go through the motions of getting it sent to you, hopefully so that you're not waiting 3-5 days for it (even though 1 day express is practically £10 under the brand new price).
However, while I have your address saved in my phone for when I write out your package (I'm at work tomorrow, but they have bubble-wrap lined parcel envelopes), it might be best if you can provide me with your full name so it doesn't look odd when I take the thing in to be sent on my lunch break with just an address.
What I'll do is go on the IRC and give you my email address. But if you're not there now – which I doubt – then I'll PM it to someone like DarkFeather to pass on to you. If I can get an email tomorrow, that'll be great, though if not, it might have to be sent on Monday.
Either way, I hope you enjoy! :D Slate Vesper (talk) 01:27, November 15, 2014 (UTC)
- Alright Slate, I'll try and be on the IRC, but I am playing (obsessively) through Rogue right now, so you might have better luck having someone else pass your e-mail to me.
- Thanks again btw! ^^ Crook The Constantine District 10:59, November 15, 2014 (UTC)
- The parcel has been delivered and it should hopefully be at your address by Tuesday, since I missed today's post. :D Slate Vesper (talk) 21:32, November 15, 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Slate, annoyingly, nobody was home when the parcel was delivered, so now they've taken it back with them. I've scheduled for it to be redelivered to my address next monday (what kind of rubbish delivery service doesn't deliver on saturdays?), but in the event I did something wrong, don't be surprised if it somehow ends up back at your place xD Crook The Constantine District 10:40, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
- You should complain, Crook. I paid for that package to be sent global express. If they haven't delivered it on the day, they damn well sure should try tomorrow. I was panicking slightly because it said there was an "address problem" on the post tracking service, and that they required the sender's instruction, so I am going to phone them tomorrow on my day off and give them a piece of my mind.
- Quite frankly, it's a fucking joke that they've done this, because I paid £43.02 to get it to you on the earliest possible date, since I want to honor my promise to you. Don't settle for waiting another week, and let it be known that I don't consider you to be at fault in any way. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:43, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
- I don't really consider it the fault of the delivery service - there wasn't anybody home to verify the delivery (I can't really expect them to just lay down the parcel at the door, right?), so they took it with them again. I scheduled it for redelivery at my address on Monday because there simply isn't anybody at home during the period these guys visit during the week apparently (in hindsight, I probably should've given up a neighbour's address or something so I could've gotten it sooner). The only thing that annoys me is that these people don't deliver on Saturdays, really :P Crook The Constantine District 20:52, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
- Right, sorry about that, I was a bit pissed off when I heard they hadn't tried again at another point. At any rate, would you like to give me a neighbour's address to pass on (via IRC), so as to perhaps facilitate a speedier delivery? Slate Vesper (talk) 20:57, November 18, 2014 (UTC)
Pop into IRC if you got complaints about the background ;P[edit source]
I'm still around :P DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 05:52, November 19, 2014 (UTC)
- Zoom out a bit: Arno is on the left and Shao Jun on the right. We can't use Kain's at the moment because it is too moderate to have text clearly displayed upon it. It is possible to recolor the center, and I'm still considering that possibility. DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 06:35, November 19, 2014 (UTC)
- How do I "zoom out" on a Wiki background? :s It's nothing but grey, both on my laptop at home, and the computer at school. Well, if it's a temporary solution, it's alright with me, but I hope we can get Kain's background to work. Crook The Constantine District 11:50, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Images[edit source]
What ? that image is not promotional one ! is from one of the coop missions and it from my game .
- Killsilvert.jpg laroi.jpg latouche.jpg and Chretlafr.jpg are all promotional screenshots. These are not from the game itself.
- For the Napoleon image, your description should be something along the lines of the following:
| Crookandcharlatan/Archive 1 | Check TinEye |
|---|---|
| Information | |
| Description |
Screenshot of Napoleon Bonaparte. |
| Source | |
| Author/Artist |
Ubisoft |
| Licensing | |
- If you add that, the image will not be deleted. Crook The Constantine District 16:52, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
verry thx :) you are too friendly Juraj103
- Oh, I don't know about that lol. I'll keep an eye on your images and see if you do it correctly. Remember, images that aren't sourced properly eventually get deleted. Also, please sign your posts? Stuff[edit source]
Two things I'd like you to check out. One, kill a few civilians and tell me if bounty hunters go after you on land, or only like pirate hunters at sea. Two, find me some more info on renovations. Can shay renovate shops or just specific landmarks, and is it connected to liberating gang hqs, like Borgia towers. --Kainzorus Prime ⚜ Walkie-talkie 18:50, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Shay renovates a small church in a mission (which introduces the renovating mechanic). There's also hunting lodges and hostels and one pretty big building; no actual landmarks though. Renovations only become available after the gang headquarters have been taken over, I think.
- I'll check out the bounty hunter thing when I can. Crook The Constantine District 19:00, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
Do the glitched memories appear in the progress tracker? --Kainzorus Prime ⚜ Walkie-talkie 23:26, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
- They do (they're a seperate bar listed after the game's six sequences but still counted among the "main memories"), I think you can even replay them. Crook The Constantine District 23:29, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, throw me the name of the sequence, and the memories themselves, so I can update the template. --Kainzorus Prime ⚜ Walkie-talkie 23:35, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, uh, about that... the memory titles are all "keyboard smashes". They literally go like "azfnmzegbbgouagùbùvzo" and so on. :s Crook The Constantine District 23:40, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I know. Gimme. What about the name of the sequence itself? --Kainzorus Prime ⚜ Walkie-talkie 23:42, November 28, 2014 (UTC)
- I think it's just "Glitched memories", but I'm not 100% certain and I can't check it currently. I'll get back to you tomorrow. Crook The Constantine District 23:44, November 28, 2014 (UTC)

Initiates & Liberation[edit source]
Hey,
Can you tell me what exactly are the initiates and erudito and from where does the initiates article gets its stories?????
Is it from some blogs of the ubisoft officials or does ubisoft make these stories???
Jayam (talk) 07:36, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
In the subject 1 article I read that he relived the memories of Aveline and ebstergo created a game out of it......could you please explain to me what was going on?? how did they make a game...they dont even exist and is this info. cannonical???
And i haven't played liberation and i don't know how it starts and who views the memories and what happens in the modern day event.......and after reading the upper given info. i am confused and i am starting to doubt if there is a modern day tieline or not (in the game) Jayam (talk) 08:11, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
- Erudito and Initiates are similar groups, composed of hackers that are aware of the Assassin-Templar conflict and try to find as much information as possible about it. While the Initiates were, up until recently, a neutral group whose sole purpose was the collection of data, Erudito actively opposed the Templars (aka Abstergo) and would create scandals such as fake news stories or hack into their servers to mess them up. The information about the Initiates came from acinitiates.com, but the site was recently revamped and now I'm not sure if the information is on there anymore.
- As for Subject 1, yes he relived Aveline's memories, which were recorded by Abstergo. This is why they were able to make a videogame out of them even after he died. If Abstergo can extract memories and audiovisualize them, then they can be used in the form of an entertainment product like Liberation (the in-game Liberation, not the real life Liberation).
- Finally, no, Liberation does not have a modern storyline, not really. The introduction says "you" purchased Liberation, the Abstergo Entertainment product featuring Aveline de Grandpré, and from then on you're playing her memories. You never get out of the Animus or anything like that. Crook The Constantine District 10:03, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
the in-game Liberation, not the real life Liberation...what do you mean by this??/
and the info. which was on acinitiates.com....who put it there?? Jayam (talk) 15:13, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
- The real life Liberation is the Assassin's Creed III: Liberation/Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD that we can buy. The in-game Liberation is the game produced by Abstergo.
- Uhh, the people from Ubisoft that work on Assassin's Creed: Initiates? :/Crook The Constantine District 15:29, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
Rogue stuff[edit source]
Hola, Crook. You wouldn't mind if I used you as a source of Rogue info, would you? I was just wondering: Is money hard to come by? Whenever I've watched a bit of a walkthrough, they have very little cash on them. So, is money less easy to acquire than in Black Flag, or do these people just suck? --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:56, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
- If you renovate from the very first opportunity you're given and hunt for enough chests, you'll be swimming in money before you know it :P I was always short on materials, but never on cash.
- At one point I bought every outfit and weapon available, just to put a dent in the amount of money I had on me lol. Crook The Constantine District 16:00, November 30, 2014 (UTC)
