The Survivors of Yangzhou was a virtual representation of one of Wei Yu's disciple's genetic memories relived through the Animus.

Having parted ways with Nie Jing, the disciple and Yu Ying travelled to Yangzhou City to warn their contacts of the attack to Jade Spring village.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
- Wei Yu's disciple: Time to visit Yangzhou city. I hope Old Fan and Big Chef are still alive. Grand General Meng Tian... Why does his name sound so foreboding... I'll look into the military movements once I've warned Old Fan and Big Chef.
Notify Chef Jiu Wei[edit | edit source]
The disciple then travelled to Yangzhou and found Jiu Wei perusing thorugh the products of a stall in Yangzhou official market.
- Wei Yu's disciple: Big Chef, there you are! This isn't the time to be bargaining. Our village was attacked by Qin soldiers!
- Chef Jiu: What, Qin soldiers? Why would they... is my family safe?
- Wei Yu's disciple: We don't know, but I'm asking everyone to gather at the stables near Yangzhou's back gate.
- Chef Jiu: Good heavens! I'll make sure to pass the news along.
Troubled by the news, Big Chef left in a hurry.
Notify Old Fan[edit | edit source]
The student then went to warn Fan Zeng, approaching his house in the interior of the city.
- Wei Yu's disciple: Old Fan's house, he should be home.
They entered the house's courtyard.
- Wei Yu's disciple: Old Fan! Are you there? Old Fan!
The youxia tried to open the latched door, hearing something on the other side.
- Wei Yu's disciple: What was that sound? Sounds like Old Fan had an accident. I should find a way in.
Finding an opening in one of the walls nearby, the disciple slid through it and entered the house. Inside, they saw Old Fan stuck on the adjacent room, whose entrance was blocked by a shelf. The old man spotted them through a window.
- Fan Zeng: Thank heavens, it's you! I heard about the village and feared the soldiers would find me. So I sealed the door when I heard your approach... but now... I seem to have locked myself in here.
- Wei Yu's disciple: (laugh) Don't worry. I'll find a way to get you out.
The student destroyed a couple of vases close to the shelf, which allowed them to move it out of the way. With the path clear, the disciple entered the room and spoke with Fan Zeng.
- Fan Zeng: Is everyone safe?
- Wei Yu's disciple: Chu Huan didn't make it...
- Fan Zeng: I'm sorry... I know how much of a brother he was to you...
They then moved two other pieces of furniture out of the other door, unobstructing the way to the kitchen, to where the first latched door led.
- Fan Zeng: Break the lock and let us be out of here.
The youxia broke the latch and opened the door. They spoke to Old Fan again.
- Wei Yu's disciple: We're gathering everyone at Yangzhou's back gate. Are you able to find your way there?
- Fan Zeng: Of course. But be careful, the Grand General may be involved in the village attack.
- Wei Yu's disciple: That's what Jing said as well... I intend to search his office. There's bound to be a record of military movements.
- Fan Zeng: Well, you're lucky he's out of town at the moment. Still, be quick about it and don't tarry.
- Wei Yu's disciple: I'll see you at the back gate when I'm done.
Investigate the General's Residence in Yangzhou[edit | edit source]
Having warned the remaining villagers, the disciple set off to Meng Tian's residence.
- Wei Yu's disciple: I've spoken to everyone. Now it's time to find out what the Grand General has been up to.
Once there, they infiltrated the heavily guarded mansion and made their way to its second floor. Behind the locked doors of one of its rooms, the disciple found a bamboo scroll.
The General's Reply
- The division leaving camp last night without permission has raised serious doubts concerning their dispatch orders. The General has ordered a thorough investigation, and the officers concerned are instructed to report to the Grand General at the Great Wall camp.
- Wei Yu's disciple: Grand General Meng Tian requests the urgent presence of the commander who led an attack on a village... my village! Seems like the Grand General may be involved after all. Time to head to the back gate. Old Fan would want to hear about this. With everyone gathered, we should look for a new village.
With the information acquired, the student left the residence.
- Wei Yu's disciple: I wonder how many survivors Yingying found. I wonder what Master Wei Yu will say when he returns.
They went to the appointed spot suggested by Nie Jing near one of the city gates, only to find out that Yu Ying and the survivors had been ambushed by another group of purple soldiers. As some villagers lay dead next to a collapsed wooden carriage, Yu Ying confronted the guards.
- Purple soldier: Get them all. Spare no one!
- Yu Ying: You bastards will regret this!
- Wei Yu's disciple: No! They took out almost everyone!
The student joined the fight.
- Yu Ying: You monsters! Leave us alone!
- Wei Yu's disciple: Who sent you! Answer me! Was it General Meng Tian? Who is your captain?
- Purple soldier: I'll shut this one up.
Why won't you stay down?
The two youxia finished the entire group.
With the Qin soldiers defeated, Yu Ying rushes forward and crouches over a corpse that's been crushed under a carriage. Numbly, she tells you that she is the only survivor. With grim determination, you show her the letter from the Grand General, swearing to avenge your people, and march off to the construction camp to find him.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Wei Yu's disciple contacted the villagers located in Yangzhou City and investigated Meng Tian's possible involvement on the attack to Jade Spring. However, the assembled survivors of the city were ultimately slaughtered by an ambush of the purple soldiers, with the disciple arriving just in time to save Yu Ying from the confrontation.
