Actual location

I was debating whether to put Austria or Austrian Empire as the location. In terms of history, I was going to put the latter but wanted to be safe and put current Austria. Batfan13 (talk) 14:13, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

We had a lot of disputes before about articles on other branches of the Assassins that haven't been confirmed, so I wanted to double-check if we are assuming that there was an Austrian Brotherhood just because we read about Assassins operating in Austria. It's possible for Assassins from a different branch to do a mission in another region, and the boundaries of Assassin branches also need not always be coterminous with state borders. Propose delete

I cannot recall whether this was mentioned in past talks, but is this ever explicitly referred to as the "Austrian Brotherhood"? The only information we know is that it is based in Austria, we cannot be certain whether it is commanded by an Assassin leader or a Mentor, since there is so little information about the "group" operations and membership. Indeed, its sole member is Oscar, and not only does one person not make a category, there are no plans for the originally-planned third entry in The Engine of History series, so I highly doubt we will learn any more information. This feels more like "general Assassin activity in Austria" instead of an Assassin collective working in a nation. – Darman (talk) 01:25, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

While it's plausible for Oscar to be the cell leader, as a new apprentice is unlikely to have the clearance to pass as much information as he did to the Templars, it's also supposition. We tend to write relevant info on the "Assassin cell" page instead of making a new one for a group. However, there's so little activity here even for this supposed "cell" that I think it should just be in "Assassins" page, but not "History of the Assassins" since that's for a wider scope of the timeline. – Darman (talk) 01:35, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

I think this could be deleted or merged with Assassin cell. Assassin cell could be expanded to include a history section since the scope of that type of organizational hierarchy has gone beyond our understanding when it was first introduced. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:00, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

I don't see why the page should be deleted. My vote is to have it moved to something like "Oskar Kane's Assassin cell". - Soranin (talk) 16:35, 28 September 2025 (UTC)

Sure, we could do that as well. Whether it's a merge or a rename, whatever the result, this is far too small to be a proper Brotherhood as we know them from past media. – Darman (talk) 03:55, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
