The Assassin's Creed: Shadows soundtrack is a collection of music tracks written by the British composing team Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, known collectively as The Flight; the Japanese-Canadian psychedelic rock group TEKE::TEKE; the British quartet Hugo Brijs, Alex Cameron Ward, Félix Rebaud-Sauer, and Todd Speakman, known together as Thunderdrum; and the British-Tanzanian rapper Tiggs Da Author that are used as background music in Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The music was released digitally across 3 volumes, with the first album by The Flight debuting on 13 March 2025, TEKE::TEKE's album releasing on 27 March, and Thunderdrum's album with Tiggs on 4 April.

Background[edit | edit source]

On 12 June 2024, Ubisoft announced that it had developed a 4-track EP titled Themes of Shadows as a promotion for Shadows and it would release 2 days later.[1] Ubisoft revealed the three different collaborating artists and what each of their sounds would bring to the game.[2] The music duo The Flight, who had composed the soundtrack for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, would return and incorporate traditional Japanese instruments and musicians, blending them together for a unique modern style of sound.[3] The Montreal-based Japanese band TEKE::TEKE would contribute their experimental approach to music to create original songs used for emotional soundscapes.[4] Lastly, the British-Tanzanian rapper Tiggs Da Author worked with composer team Thunderdrum to create a psychedelic rock fusion of music that would be heard throughout the game's main campaign.[5]

The first album released on 13 March, a week before Shadows' debut on 20 March.[6] On 27 March, a week after the game's release, Ubisoft announced that the second album Kage no Iro by TEKE::TEKE would by out by that weekend.[7] On 1 April, Ubisoft announced that the third and final album Ukombozi (Swahili: "liberation, emancipation") by Thunderdrum and Tiggs would release that weekend, a date that would mark just over two weeks post-launch.[8]
