Yuraminato Shrine

Yuraminato Shrine (由良湊神社) is a Shinto shrine situated in Sumoto, Hyōgo Prefecture on Awaji, Japan. During the Sengoku period, it was located in the subregion Yura.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1585, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke visited the shrine and caught sight of a woman in black wearing a mask. Watching, they heard her say aloud about meeting with the Japanese Templar Yasuhira. Following her, they tracked her Yasuhira's home but learned that he was not home. However, upon their investigation, they learned about another "black mask" meeting and headed back to Hattori Hanzō to reconvene and to plan their next steps.[1]

After Yukari was defeated,[2] Naoe and Yasuke met with Konatsu who asked them for their help of ridding the island of the remaining Sanzoku Ippa operatives. Thus, the pair tracked down one of Yasuhira's spies So Sachihiko at the shrine and promptly assassinated him. Before leaving, they acquired both a spare tantō Secret Keeper and a note about two of Nowaki's shinobi near Kannoji Temple and three more shinobi on the Trail of Eshima, and blaming his fellow spy Ryuzoji Den for their master's demise.[3] Later, Naoe and Yasuke returned to the shrine and paid their respects at two of its smaller shrines.[4]
