Pontem Esera

Pontem Esera was a Frankish fortress in late 9th century Amienois, West Francia.
History[edit | edit source]
In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottirnwas sent by her allies, Toka Sinricsdottir and her uncle, Sigfred, to look for Count Odo of France. Toka's knowledge of his whereabouts led Eivor to investigate the fortress, Pontem Esera. Traveling to the fortress, Eivor arrived and infiltrated the area. Looking around, Eivor noticed a locked door on one of the structures. Odo's presence was noted by the soldiers circulating the stronghold, as Eivor listened to their conversations.[1]
Probing the area, Eivor saw that a soldier held the key and stole the key. Back at the locked door, Eivor unlocked it and entered the structure. Eivor looked around and found a letter from Odo's wife, Théodrate of Troyes, which explained for him to come back to the Manoir des Fleurs Rouges and welcome his guests. Thus, Eivor headed to the manor in the northern part of Paris.[1]
Through her travels, Eivor found and unlocked a chest in the fortress and retrieved the Bloodied Scythe. Also, Eivor climbed to the top of the fortress' tower and synchronized a viewpoint.[2]
