Assassin's Creed: Nexus VR
Assassin's Creed: Nexus VR is an upcoming installment in the Assassin's Creed series. It is being developed by Ubisoft's Red Storm Entertainment and will release for the Oculus Quest.
Plot synopsis
Abstergo Industries has found a way to retrieve powerful lost artifacts that can tap into anyone’s lifetime of memories in order to manipulate their beliefs. To sabotage their plan, you’ll step into history, uncover brand-new stories, and accomplish missions as Ezio, Kassandra, and Connor. Play a pivotal role as you parkour freely through the maps, interact with civilians and historical figures (yes, including Leonardo da Vinci), and save the future from Abstergo’s quest for control.[1]
Development
Initially announced alongside the since-canceled Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell VR at the Oculus Quest virtual event in September 2020, Nexus is being developed primarily by Red Storm Entertainment with additional help from Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Reflections.[2][3]
The conceptual title of the game, Assassin's Creed: Nexus VR, was credibly leaked on 6 September 2022 and reported by Tom Henderson of Try Hard Guides.[4] Henderson has also reportedly leaked many more details of the game, none of which have been substantiated.[2] In February 2023, Henderson revealed the supposed release date of Nexus and stated more details would become available when the game is officially announced in June.[5]
Release
Assassin's Creed: Nexus VR will be released for the Oculus Quest 3, 2, and Pro in holiday season of 2023.[1]
Marketing
A trailer for Nexus was released at Ubisoft Forward 2023 on June 12 2023.
