Sinric was the Norse jarl of Clan Elgring in West Francia during the late 9th century. He was the brother of Sigfred and father of Toka Sinricsdottir.
Sinric and his clan lived in the north of Francia but was forced south by the forces of Charles the Fat, resettling in the town of Melun.[1] Sometime before the Siege of Paris, Sinric was murdered in his sleep by Engelwin. The body was left out in the open, for the animals to take. His own brother only recognized him due to a small carving of Eikthyrni he had been holding. Sinric's body was buried right outside Melun, a runestone marking the grave.[2]
